Josiah and Jennifer Huber

Ministry

Josiah, son of Project AmaZon founders Luke and Christine Huber, was born and raised on the mission field in Santarém, Brazil. At age 16, he traveled to the United States to complete school. He received an Associate of Arts Degree in Ministry in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he met his wife, Jennifer, daughter of Joe and Kay Ringenberg, a family native to New Orleans. After getting married on June 14, 2003, Josiah and Jennifer moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Josiah completed his Bachelor’s Degree at Oral Roberts University (ORU). In April, 2005, the couple joined PAZ and soon after moved to Santarém.

After obtaining unparalleled experience working with cell groups and raising up leaders in Santarém for almost 3 years, Josiah and Jennifer moved to the small river community of Iruçanga to plant new churches and supervise existing works along the Tapajós River and in some inland jungle communities. Their responsibilities include planning and supervising evangelistic events, small groups, church growth and church construction in the communities, as well as facilitating and encouraging the work of the supervisors under their covering. They are enjoying the exciting adventure of living out God’s calling for their lives in the Amazon!

2012… Already?!

Wow!  It’s hard to believe we are in 2012 already!  I remember when I was a kid I was sure we’d have flying cars by now, and although I am sure there are somewhere in the world, God has called me to a life that is in some ways 50 years behind technological advances elsewhere, and I’m more content than ever.  Although a flying car sure would make church planting and supervision more efficient… and pretty cool.  We trust you all had sweetly blessed Christmases sprinkled gene...

Exciting news… as always! :)

Officially Brazilian "Sailors" Whew! We are finally finished with our 3-month boating license course.  And I must say I’m proud to have finished it, being a girl, first of all, and an American! Now I am officially a marine mechanic.    I have already gotten my hands dirty and have been fittingly (and lovingly) called a “grease monkey.”  We had the honor of marching in a parade with the Brazilian Navy on Brazil’s Independence Day, September 7, and we were...

Where do I begin??

If I tried to fill you in on everything that has been happening in our lives since our last update, I think it would take up more space than the blogging site would allow!  So I’ll just try to briefly bring you up to speed… Bible Course at Piquiatuba Church in June Bible Courses in the Communities… We held our first intensive Bible course in the river communities of Piquiatuba  and Prainha in June.  Many local workers and leaders showed up from the river communities to learn...
