The PAZ Experience is Project AmaZon’s 8-week internship and short-term mission program. The program allows the participant to experience life as a missionary overseas and participate in local ministry at the ground level. The PAZ Experience is designed to challenge the participant culturally, spiritually and emotionally in preparation for full-time international missions.

You, along with other program participants will spend 8-weeks at our Santarém base learning how:

• Working with intercultural teams
• Traveling on the river in support of churches
• Learning about discipleship
• Experiencing Brazilian culture
• Studying Portuguese
• Participating in children’s ministry, team building exercises and relevant regional studies

Individuals will also be responsible for their own cooking, shopping and cleaning while in country. These seemingly routine activities can be an entire learning experience for someone living in a foreign country.

Participants must be at least 18 years old and will come to Santarém, Pará in the heart of the Amazon Basin for June and July 2012. The fee of $2,000 covers housing, groceries, ministry trips and some Portuguese lessons. For more details on the missions and ministry trips you’ll participate in, visit the Missions Trips page.
