Each year, the Paz church in Santarém holds a huge evangelistic event, the Congresso (Meeting) of Paz. The 2012 Congresso da Paz happened this last weekend, and it was a huge success! There was big party in heaven as 1,016 accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. It was truly 3 days of miracles, joy and transformed lives.
The first night was marked by the moving testimony of Cid Guerreiro, a famous Brazilian singer who became a Christian and is now a member of the Paz church in Fortaleza where he leads a cell group and disciples others. He shared what God has done in his life, his experiences before accepting Jesus, the wonderful encounter he had with God and the powerful transformation that happened in his family. He emphasized how discipleship has been indispensable in his life and how honored he was to have Pastor Abe Huber receive him with so much love and affection.
With us on Saturday night was the greatest evangelist of our time, Reinhard Bonnke. Reinhard is an authority in the area of evangelism, a preacher with crusades that are winning many millions of people for Christ. He delivered a certificate to over 2,000 students who participated in the “Seminary of Fire” that happened on June 22 and 23 at the PAZ church in Santarém. It was a very special moment as he prayed to transfer the anointing to win souls to all present. Later he gave the Gospel message and hundreds responded.
Sunday was a great night of salvation as many people accepted Jesus through the word of Pastor Reinhard Bonnke, emphasizing God’s unconditional love for man and the only solution that turns one from darkness to the light. Afterwards, Reinhard prayed for the sick, and many were healed from their sickness! And the last night held the annual drama and street dance, emphasizing our need to carry the cross until the end, not giving up or growing weary because our reward is waiting for us at the end.
Thank you for your prayers and support. These 1,016 are being plugged into cell groups (if they don’t already have one) and given disciplers so that they can continue to grow in all that God has for them.
