Congresso 2010: Opening Night

Congresso da Paz 2010 is officially underway! Last night (Friday July 2) was the first night of this huge three-day evangelistic event that is unlike any other event held in Santarém. Typically the Paz Church in Santarém brings in the worship teams and speakers from all over Brazil to minister the Congresso, but this year is a first — the speaker is our very own anointed missionary/pastor Abe Huber and the worship team is the Paz Church’s very own worship team! For months, we have been fasting and praying for this event — that it would be a marvelous time of salvation and healing.

- When the event started, the upper stadium had already filled.

- Everything is done in a spirit of intercession.

- The night begins with praise & worship from PAZ’s very own worship team, launching their new CD, “Por Ti.”

- The team ministers.

- Meanwhile, various team members continue to worship and intercede.

- Praise and worship fills the stadium as everyone gets involved.

- Immediately after praise and worship, Pastor Abe Huber delivers a powerful message about the Father’s love.

- When the alter call is made, people begin coming right away.
-
- And hundreds of decisions are made to follow Christ!

- The field fills with people reconciling their lives with God.
-
- Those in need of healing are called to the field to receive prayer.

- And even more people cry out to God.
-
- The presence of the Lord can be felt as people open their lives to Him.

- This man suffered from a bad leg for 5 years, not even being able to bend it.

- And was completely healed and jumping for joy afterwards!!!

- This girl had a bad back that the doctors said was incurable, and Jesus healed her completely!

- After the prayers for healing, came the dramatic presentation that the Congresso is known for.

- The setting of the stage is a show in itself.

- It feels like opening night at the Olympics as many performers dance.

- And the story of Joseph and his coat of many colors begins.
